In India, the idea of simple & spiritual temple weddings are gaining ground. More couples today are choosing intimacy & meaning on their big day.
But while couples have evolved in what they want, the way it works in India hasn’t caught up….
“In temples, weddings don’t work like traditional venues – you can’t just visit, pay and book a date,” says Suresh Bhatt, founder of Plannersy. “There are permissions, local dependencies, and processes that aren’t clearly defined. We realised that while the desire for simpler temple weddings exist, there isn’t a well-defined system or planners ready to support it. Couples don’t know where to begin, whom to trust, or how to navigate it all”
This gap led the wedding planning team at “Plannersy” to focus on simplifying temple weddings across India, starting with locations like Shri Laxminarayan Temple (aka Birla Mandir) in Delhi and Bhoga Nandishwara Temple in Bangalore.
Planning a temple wedding is very different from booking a conventional venue like a banquet hall. Permissions vary, processes are often unstructured, and vendor coordination depends heavily on local networks.
For couples, this creates uncertainty at every step.
Plannersy addresses this by offering end-to-end execution, allowing couples to focus on the ceremony rather than the logistics.
From securing temple permits to managing temple decoration, exotic & fresh jaimala pair for the couple, the dreamy phoolon ki chaadar for bridal entry, and memorable return gifts for the guests – the team takes care of every detail, including vendor coordination and on-ground execution.
“Our goal is simple – the couples choosing a temple wedding should experience the spiritual moment, not manage it,” Suresh Bhatt says.
Execution becomes more important as weddings are spiritual affairs and require custom regional traditions. At Bhoga Nandishwara Temple, while ceremonies usually follow South Indian customs, Plannersy can organise either a North Indian or a South Indian wedding, depending on the couple’s preference, including traditional elements like Nadaswaram music.
“Even simple weddings require precision,” Suresh Bhatt explains. “Execution is where most of the complexity lies.”
The platform is also working toward making temple weddings more accessible. Couples can currently block wedding dates starting from ₹10,000 at Shri Laxminarayan Temple, Delhi (Birla Mandir) and begin planning from around ₹25,000 at Bhoga Nandishwara Temple, Nandi Hills, Karnataka (nearby Bangalore).
Behind the scenes, building this ecosystem has required significant on-ground effort for team Plannersy.
Not all temples allow weddings, and where they do, processes are rarely standardised. The Plannersy team has had to personally visit temples, coordinate with authorities, and navigate multiple rejections to build a reliable network.
“This is not a plug-and-play space,” Suresh Bhatt says. “It requires persistence and trust-building.” As more couples shift toward intimate and meaningful celebrations, Plannersy is positioning itself as a service platform in the wedding industry that turns intent into execution – making temple weddings simpler, more accessible, and easier to plan across India
