Vishwashanti Gurukul World School Wins Two Honours in Two Weeks: Ranked No. 1 Boarding School in Maharashtra, Pune by Education Today and Named Primary School for Excellence in Experiential Learning at EYES 2026

From the earliest years to university entry, Pune's IB Continuum day and boarding school is recognised for excellence at every stage of a child's journey.

PUNE, Maharashtra, India — 15 October 2026 — Vishwashanti Gurukul World School (VGWS), Pune, a unit of MIT India under the MAEER MIT Group, has received two major honours within a fortnight.

On 29 September 2026, VGWS was named among Maharashtra's Top 3 Boarding Schools at the Education Today Maharashtra School Merit Awards 2026-27, ranked No. 1 in Pune and No. 2 in Maharashtra. On 10 October 2026, the school received the EYES 2026 Honours at the 11th Early Years Educators Summit at The LaLiT, Mumbai, as Primary School for Excellence in Experiential Learning.

Together, the awards recognise both ends of the VGWS promise: a world-class residential community for older students, and joyful, inquiry-driven learning for its youngest. They build on the school's 2026 titles of Outstanding IB World School and Best India's International Day & Residential School, and its 2025 recognition as India's No. 1 School.

Education Today: No. 1 boarding school in Pune, Maharashtra

VGWS received a Certificate of Achievement and trophy as one of Maharashtra's Top 3 Boarding Schools "for exemplary contribution in the field of education". The awards were featured in the August 2026 "Maharashtra Best Schools" edition of Education Today magazine. For families weighing a residential education, the ranking places VGWS first in Pune and second in the state.

EYES 2026: Excellence in Experiential Learning

The EYES 2026 Honours, an initiative of Global EDu Crew (GEC), recognised VGWS "for its commitment to educational excellence, meaningful learning, and creating possibilities for every learner." The school's Certificate of Honour cites its "outstanding contribution, commitment and meaningful impact in education."

The honour reflects how VGWS teaches in its Early and Primary Years. Through the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP), children learn by doing: asking questions, exploring, building and reflecting. Engaging, inquiry-driven experiences nurture curiosity, creativity and a love of lifelong learning from the very first years.

The school extends its appreciation to its educators and the entire school community, who make meaningful learning possible every day.

Five honours, 2025–2026
