Juris Legit launches its CSR initiative "Unnato Bangla" for Empowering Marginalized Communities across West Bengal

KOLKATA, WEST BENGAL– Juris Legit, a law firm deeply committed to public interest service and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), today officially announced the launch of “Unnato Bangla” {Empowering Bengal, One Life At A Time}, with effect from 15th August 2025. It is a comprehensive social welfare initiative aimed at significantly uplifting the marginalized communities across the State of West Bengal. This ambitious program seeks to address critical social and economic needs by focusing on holistic development across health, legal and employment sectors.

The initiative's multi–faceted approach will target various pressing issues, including but not limited to:
Health: -
· Health Index Assessments: Conducting comprehensive health screenings (blood sugar, blood pressure, oxygen saturation, height, weight) to identify and address potential health issues.
· Free Eye Check–Up Camps: Organizing eye check-up camps in all 341 Blocks of West Bengal and providing free spectacles to those prescribed.
· Menstrual Health & Hygiene: Distributing sanitary napkins to promote menstrual health management and empowerment among women and adolescent girls.
· Disease Prevention: Distributing condoms to prevent pregnancies and sexually transmitted infections and conducting extensive awareness programs in villages on healthy lifestyles and hygiene to combat chronic diseases, infectious diseases, substance abuse and mental health challenges prevalent in rural areas.
Legal:
· Access to Justice: Providing pro bono legal assistance for civil and criminal litigation to individuals from Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) who often face significant barriers to accessing justice.
· Legal Awareness Programs: Empowering EWS communities with knowledge of their rights and legal protections through dedicated awareness camps.
Social & Employment:
· Poverty Alleviation: Addressing root causes of poverty by promoting economic growth, job creation and access to basic services.
· Combating Social Injustice: Raising awareness and actively working against issues like the caste system, child marriage, and human trafficking, while advocating for safe drinking water, improved public distribution systems and better public transport.
· Enhancing Education & Women's Safety: Addressing systemic problems in education, including infrastructure and teacher shortages, and actively working towards improving women's safety, particularly in vulnerable areas.
· Skill Development & Employment Generation: Launching skill development and vocational training centres (tailoring, carpentry, plumbing, data entry), promoting Self–Help Groups (SHGs) for self– employment, establishing social enterprises and providing digital literacy training to unlock online work opportunities for EWS youth.
