One Nation, Many Voices: Crescent Public School and Creative Minds Pre-School Celebrate Independence, Leadership and Environmental Responsibility
BALLARPUR: Patriotism, creativity, academic excellence, student leadership and environmental responsibility came together at Crescent Public School and Creative Minds Pre-School, Ballarpur, as the institutions celebrated India’s 80th Independence Day under the inspiring theme “One Nation, Many Voices.” The celebration brought together students from the pre-primary and senior sections, teachers, parents, school management and distinguished guests for an event that reflected the diverse talents and aspirations of the young generation.
The programme was designed not merely as a traditional Independence Day celebration but as a meaningful educational experience. Through patriotic presentations, cultural performances, awards, student speeches, the Investiture Ceremony and the declaration of USO Student Ambassadors, the celebration sought to connect the idea of freedom with responsibility, leadership and service to society.
The morning began with the proud hoisting of the National Flag, followed by the National Anthem. As the Tricolour rose high, the entire gathering stood in solemn respect. The ceremony provided an opportunity for students to remember the sacrifices of the freedom fighters and understand that the freedom enjoyed today carries with it the responsibility to become honest, disciplined, responsible and contributing citizens.
A particularly delightful beginning to the programme was provided by the children of Creative Minds Pre-School, Ballarpur. Students from Nursery, LKG and UKG participated with tremendous enthusiasm and arrived dressed in the attire of prominent National Leaders. The tiny children represented the personalities who played important roles in India's history and nation-building. Their colourful costumes, innocent expressions and confidence made their presentation one of the most appreciated moments of the early part of the celebration.
The young children also presented a cheerful dance performance before the audience. Their energetic movements and enthusiasm on stage received loud applause from parents, teachers and guests. Considering their young age, their confidence in performing before a large audience was particularly appreciated. To encourage their participation and make the occasion memorable, the children were presented with gifts from the management.
The participation of Creative Minds Pre-School added a special dimension to the celebration. It demonstrated that patriotism and national awareness can be introduced from the earliest years through joyful, age-appropriate activities. The little learners were not merely spectators; they became active participants in the celebration of the nation.
Following the flag ceremony and refreshments, the formal programme began with an introduction to the central theme, “One Nation, Many Voices.” The theme captured the essence of India as a country where people speak different languages, follow different traditions and celebrate diverse cultures while remaining united as one nation.
The theme was also reflected in the students themselves. Each child brought a different ability and personality to the programme. Some expressed themselves through dance, some through speeches, others through academic achievements and student leadership, while the newly appointed environmental ambassadors accepted the responsibility of becoming voices for nature and conservation.
Addressing the gathering, Director Advocate Nazim Khan highlighted the role of education in preparing young people for the responsibilities of citizenship. He encouraged students to understand that education is not limited to examinations, marks or certificates. True education, he emphasised, should develop confidence, discipline, character, compassion, leadership and the ability to contribute meaningfully to society.
His message encouraged students to recognise their individuality while understanding the importance of working together. In the spirit of the day's theme, students were reminded that every voice matters and that when individual talents are united towards a common purpose, they can contribute to the development of a stronger nation.
Academic achievements formed another important part of the celebration. The school felicitated the SOF Olympiad Gold Medalists for the academic session 2025–26. The achievers were recognised for their outstanding performance and dedication. Their success was celebrated as an example of how regular effort, determination and a willingness to learn can lead to excellence.
The recognition of academic achievers also sent an important message to the younger students: excellence is achieved through consistent effort rather than instant success. By honouring the Olympiad medalists, the school encouraged students to participate in academic competitions and challenge themselves beyond the regular classroom curriculum.
The cultural programme then unfolded with colourful and energetic performances. The young students of Play House and Nursery presented Fancy Dress performances that delighted the audience. Their costumes and confident stage presence reflected the creativity and preparation invested by their teachers and parents.
The LKG and UKG students followed with their own Fancy Dress presentations, while students from Classes 1, 2 and 3 presented another colourful segment. The presentations gave students an opportunity to express themselves, overcome stage fear and develop confidence at an early age.
Patriotic emotions reached a high point with the presentation of the song “Ae Watan, Watan Mere, Aabaad Rahe Tu.” The soulful performance created an atmosphere of love for the motherland and reminded everyone of the sacrifices and dreams associated with India's journey as a free nation.
The dance performances continued throughout the programme. Students from different classes presented carefully prepared choreographies, bringing energy and colour to the stage. The Class 10 girls, Play House and Nursery students, LKG and UKG students and learners from Classes 1 to 9 participated in different performances.
The special Class 1 – Courage and Class 1 – Wisdom performances were particularly meaningful because they connected the cultural programme with the values the school seeks to develop among its students. Courage and wisdom are qualities that help young people face challenges, make responsible decisions and grow into confident citizens.
The senior students also delivered speeches during the programme. Their presentations focused on Independence Day, patriotism, responsibility and the role of young people in shaping India's future. The confidence with which the students addressed the audience reflected the school's emphasis on communication and personality development.
The celebration also became a platform for recognising students who had performed exceptionally well during the academic year. Scholarship winners were announced and congratulated. The school also honoured the Best Students of Classes 1 to 5 and Classes 6 to 10 for the academic session 2025–26.
These awards recognised not only academic performance but also the broader qualities of discipline, commitment, leadership, participation and responsible conduct. The recognition motivated students to continue working towards excellence in different areas of school life.
One of the most significant moments of the celebration was the Investiture Ceremony. The ceremony formally entrusted students with leadership positions and responsibilities for the academic session. It reflected the school's belief that leadership should be developed through experience, responsibility and service.

The newly appointed leaders were reminded that leadership is not simply a badge or designation. It is a commitment to discipline, teamwork, service and setting a positive example for others.
Another major highlight was the USO Student Ambassador Declaration Ceremony, which brought environmental awareness to the centre of the Independence Day celebration.
The initiative is being undertaken through collaboration involving the United Schools Organisation of India (USO), ECO PRO and Paryavaran Vahini. The students were introduced to the importance of biodiversity, the biosphere, environmental conservation, responsible use of natural resources, sustainable practices, waste management and protection of flora and fauna.
The presence of distinguished environmentalist Dr. Bandu Dhotre of ECO PRO, along with Mr. Anil, Mohammad Sharif Guruji and Shivshri Madekar Sir of Paryavaran Vahini, added special significance and dignity to the ceremony. Their presence reflected the importance of environmental education and the collective effort towards creating environmentally responsible young citizens.
Along with Principal Mrs. Humera Khan, the distinguished guests participated in the formal declaration and felicitation of the newly appointed USO Student Ambassadors, Baby Siddhi Chauhan and Master Farhaan Sheikh.
The two young ambassadors proudly received the USO T-shirt, cap and official badge. The badge represented more than recognition; it symbolised their responsibility to learn about nature, encourage environmental awareness and inspire others to protect the environment.
The most meaningful moment of the ceremony came when the newly appointed ambassadors took the USO Student Ambassador Oath, led by Principal Mrs. Humera Khan. They pledged to respect and protect the environment, understand biodiversity and conservation, use natural resources responsibly, participate in environmental initiatives and spread awareness in their school and community.
A Token of Love was presented to Dr. Bandu Dhotre Sir by Principal Mrs. Humera Khan as a gesture of appreciation for his valuable presence and guidance. The school also expressed gratitude to ECO PRO and Paryavaran Vahini for their contribution towards creating environmental awareness among students.
The cultural programme continued with performances by senior students, including the Class 6 girls, Class 7 and Class 9 girls, Class 7 boys, Class 8 girls, Class 6 and Class 8 boys and Class 9 boys. Their energetic performances received enthusiastic applause from the audience.
The success of the entire celebration was made possible by the collective efforts of the school management, teaching and non-teaching staff. Special appreciation was extended to the teaching and non-teaching staff of Creative Minds Pre-School—Mrs. Sarika Meshram, Mrs. Beaula, Mrs. Ujwalla Khobragade, Mrs. Sandhya Apalla and Mrs. Parul Bharne—along with the other teachers, who worked hard for the success of the programme. Their dedication, coordination and continuous efforts helped ensure that the children were well prepared and that the event was conducted successfully.
The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks, expressing gratitude to the distinguished guests, management, Principal, teachers, non-teaching staff, parents and students.
The Independence Day celebration at Crescent Public School and Creative Minds Pre-School ultimately became a celebration of India's heritage as well as its future. It honoured the past through patriotic remembrance, celebrated the present through student achievements and looked towards the future through the development of young leaders and environmental ambassadors.
The theme “One Nation, Many Voices” was visible in every part of the programme. The children of Creative Minds Pre-School represented national leaders, the students of Crescent Public School expressed themselves through speeches and cultural performances, achievers demonstrated academic excellence, student leaders accepted new responsibilities and USO Student Ambassadors pledged to protect the environment.
Together, these voices created one powerful message: India's future is strongest when its young citizens are educated, confident, responsible and united.
The celebration at Crescent Public School and Creative Minds Pre-School was therefore not simply an Independence Day programme. It was a reminder that freedom must be accompanied by responsibility, leadership must be accompanied by service, and education must ultimately lead to positive action.
As the celebrations came to an end, the spirit of the theme remained clear—different voices, different talents and different dreams can come together to build one strong and united nation.
One Nation. Many Voices. One Future.
