The BJP has, in practice, enabled women’s leadership in significant ways. From Rajmata Scindia to leaders such as Sumitra Mahajan, Sadhvi Uma Bharti, Vasundhara Raje, Sushma Swaraj, and now Nirmala Sitharaman, women have occupied positions of major responsibility. They have led some of the most complex ministries—including External Affairs, Defence, and Finance—thereby challenging the long-held stereotype that such domains are reserved for men. Other political parties too have produced distinguished women leaders—Sucheta Kripalani, Indira Gandhi, Jayalalithaa, Mayawati, Meira Kumar, and Mamata Banerjee among them. However, across the political spectrum, the nurturing of women’s leadership has evolved over time. In contrast, Indian women have repeatedly demonstrated that when provided with opportunity, they do not merely participate—they redefine leadership itself.

The Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyan seeks to institutionalise this very reality, ensuring that women’s participation becomes a structural feature of governance rather than an exception. Chandigarh/Jalandhar, June 21, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate Mohinder Bhagat filed his nomination papers on Friday for the Jalandhar West Assembly by-election. Cabinet Minister Harpal Singh Cheema, Minister Aman Arora and AAP MP from Hoshiarpur Dr Rajkumar Chabbewal and other AAP leaders were present during the nomination.

Before filing the nomination, Mohinder Bhagat took the blessings of his father. His father Chunni Lal Bhagat has been a minister during the Akali-BJP government. AAP candidate also paid obeisance at the Kabir temple located in Bhargava Camp and received God's blessings.

Chandigarh, June 7, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, on Friday, held a meeting with the AAP Lok Sabha candidates and MLAs of Patiala and Ferozepur Lok Sabha constituency. Sangrur/Chandigarh, June 1, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann cast his vote for the Lok Sabha elections in Mangwal (Sangrur) with his family. He said that this election is very important for Punjab and the democracy of the country. Punjab is the center of the country's politics. This time too, Punjab will make a huge contribution to the central government.

Bhagwant Mann wrote on his 'X' account, "Thanks to those Punjabis who, like me, contributed to democracy by getting this mark (vote mark) on their finger today... Our martyrs earned this voter card by sacrificing their blood. Heartfelt thanks to every Punjabi who voted... Long live the Constitution, Long live democracy"

He said that the voting history of Punjab has been that people come in large numbers and exercise their right to vote because the voters of Punjab are aware. He said that the people of Punjab will elect good and honest candidates for the Lok Sabha, who understand their problems and are capable of solving them.

He said that I did 122 rallies and road shows in the last 25 days. I did not leave any constituency and got a positive response from people everywhere. During the election campaign, I asked for votes from the people on the basis of my work of two years.

He said that during the election campaign, I heard reports of violation of the Model Code of Conduct at many places, but I did not give any such activity or speech during my campaign which violated the code of conduct. Therefore, I do not have a single complaint with the Election Commission because I campaigned by following the rules of the election. We never tried to break the election code.

He said that the role of women will be very important in this election because women are most affected by inflation. Apart from this, there are many such important issues which will affect the votes of women and will cause a big upset in the election results.

Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann's wife Dr. Gurpreet Kaur said that the women voters of Punjab are very intelligent. They will choose an honest and good government. This time women's vote will be for change and will create history.

Mansa/Bathinda/Bathinda, May 22, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, on the second day in a row, was highly active in the election campaign of AAP's Bathinda candidate Gurmeet Singh Khuddian. In the afternoon CM Mann addressed a huge public rally in Budhlada and then took out a massive road show with the AAP candidate and covered Mansa, Maur, Talwandi Sabo and Bhucho Mandi of the Bathinda Lok Sabha constituency. 

Addressing the people in Mansa road show, Mann said that he is aware of all the issues of the people here. He said that their number one problem right now is the sewerage system of this city. He said that he has already asked the officers to access the problems and start making a strategy. He said that they will make a plan, map and budget for this project. He said that he'll also take the suggestions of the leaders of Mansa so that no area is overlooked. He said that the new sewerage system will be able to sustain for 40 years because his government is free of corruption and quality work will be done.

Addressing the second biggest issue of the city, heaps of waste and garbage near the railway station, Mann said that the situation was similar in Delhi, we came up with a solution there. For Ludhiana, I talked to Nitin Gadkari to use garbage in the highway construction instead of soil. Mann said that they will come up with a similar solution for the Mansa too. Soon your city will be free to garbage mountain. He said that the previous governments tangled the whole system in 70 years, it will take some time but he is constantly working to improve the system. The people also demanded for an underbridge on the Chakerian road and Mann promised that this will all be done on the priority basis after June 4th. He said that it is a matter of great shame that even after 75 years we still don't have the basic infrastructure.

Recounting his works of two years, CM said that he gave 43,000 government jobs without any kind of recommendations and bribes. Now the youth of Punjab are not leaving their homes out of compulsion, they are getting government jobs on the basis of merit. He said that in Krandi Village of Budhlada, 40 people got government jobs, now the villages are in competition of which one will have more government jobs. He said that he made sure that farmers should get enough electricity in the daytime for their fields. They shouldn't be forced to go to fields at night. Many people shared the stories of people getting jobs and their daughters becoming judges, Mann said become officers, uplift your homes, eradicate poverty and improve your villages.

CM Bhagwant Mann urged the voters to vote for the AAP. He said I made your electricity bills zero, you can make Akali, Congress and BJP zero in Punjab. It will be all the validation and encouragement I need. He said that not only 90% of households in Punjab are getting zero electricity bills, for the first time the electricity board is in profit too. He said that it only happens when your representatives, ministers and CM are honest. He said that he knows how to get work done. Everyone has seen his work in the parliament and the assembly of Punjab. He said that he will share passwords of getting work done with Gurmeet Singh Khuddian then no one will be able to stop the work or funds of Punjab and the whole Bathinda constituency will be on the path of progress.

Mann also attacked the Modi government for the Agniveer scheme, he said that they even refused to give the guard of honour to martyred soldier Amritpal, I fought with them, this is the least we can do for our soldiers, they deserve respect. Later they reviewed their decision and decided to give the guard of honour to the martyred soldiers. He said that the Agniveer scheme is wrong, it is against our country and our youth, our soldiers deserve security. They take bullets for their country, the least we can do is give them deserved respect and security. 

Mann said that they are solving the issues of NOCs and illegal colonies too. But, the people should not worry, we won't let any common person suffer any loss because of the looters. He said that for the future, there is red stamp paper for colonies. He said that AAP's jharoo will be on the number 2 on the voting machine, he urged the people to elect an honest and sincere leader Gurmeet Singh Khuddian from Bathinda Lok Sabha seat with a huge margin victory.

CM Mann yesterday recited 'Kikli Kaleer di, buri halat Sukhbir di' in his rally in Naruana, immediately it became very popular among the people. In every roadshow today CM Mann was requested to sing kikli 2.0 and every time it was met with loud cheers from the people. Mann said that this election is going "to be the end of Badal family's politics" in Punjab. He said that only Harsimrat Badal is left, this time the people of Bathinda will throw her out of the parliament.

Mann gets overwhelming support from the people of Bhucho Mandi. A person gifted him a jacket and the people addressed him as 'Bai Bhagwant' (Bai is a word used for an elder brother in Malwa). Mann said that he is the first chief minister whom people call 'Bai ji', dynast politicians were Kaka ji, Raja ji and Biba ji. He took a dig at Harsimrat Badal too and said that she will taste defeat this time. Mann said that people of Bathinda Lok Sabha constituency are promising him that the AAP will win by the margin of 1.5-2 lakh votes.

The Janata Party Punjab State Headquarters in Ludhiana is set to host the crucial plenary session on January 23, 2024, as announced by Shri Kunal Sofat, the Punjab State President. Chandigarh, May 15:

Punjab Transport Minister S. Laljit Singh Bhullar today assured the representatives of Punjab Roadways/PRTC Contract Workers Union that the process of bringing uniformity and implementing due increase in their salaries is going expeditiously.

Presiding over the meeting of the Union at Punjab Bhawan here, the Transport Minister said that the case to bring uniformity and increase in salaries is with the Finance Department. After the objections raised by the Finance Department, the reply has also been submitted by the officials of the Transport Department. The Cabinet Minister categorically asked Secretary Transport S. Dilraj Singh Sandhawalia to write a letter to the Finance Department and personally follow the matter so that it could be resolved at the earliest.

On the issue of delay in depositing the due amount of EPF and ESI by the contractor, the Cabinet Minister said that the department has issued a penalty notice to the contractor, after which he also deposited the due amount. He instructed the Secretary to ensure that the contractor won’t commit any negligence in future which could cause difficulties in getting salaries and medical facilities to the employees.

The Transport Minister also assured that the rest of the demands of the employees are also being considered speedily. Referring to the demands of the employees such as regularizing contractual employees after abolishing contract system and enacting employees’ service rules, S. Laljit Singh Bhullar said that Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Mann led government is ensuring the well being of every category. All these matters will be resolved in the near future after the report of the cabinet sub-committee.

Amritsar MLA Jeevanjot Kaur, senior AAP leaders Mahinder Bhagat, Pravesh Tangri and other AAP leaders were also present with them.

 In his address on the occasion, Chief Minister Mann told the Sangat that Kabir ji spent his entire life helping the oppressed, raising his voice for their rights and oppose the injustice in the society. He said that the words of Kabir ji will always guide us.  Mann said that the land of Punjab is the land of gurus, pir-fakirs, warriors and martyrs. It is a matter of pride for us to be born here.

He said that his government is working diligently for the progress of every section of Punjab. Our aim is that every house in Punjab should progress. He said that we are improving the condition of government schools so that even the children of the poor families can get quality education and become officers. Mohalla clinics were built so that everyone gets proper and free treatment.

He said that some people are trying to break the brotherhood and unity of Punjab, but they do not know that Punjab is the land of Gurus. It is impossible to break the brotherhood and unity of the people of Punjab. For the youth, he said that his government is providing employment opportunities to the youth in Punjab itself.  So that they do not have to go abroad in search of jobs.

 He also assured to fulfill the demands of the local people and also expressed concern over the expensive marriages taking place in Punjab. He said that his government would set up community centers in every village of the state. These community centers will become an affordable option for the needy to organize programs.

 In the end, he said that his government is always dedicated to Punjab and Punjabis. We are working hard to live up to the trust reposed by the people of Punjab in the Aam Aadmi Party.

          Taking a serious note of cases of corruption by some officials and officers of PSPCL in the recent past, the Cabinet Minister said that corruption at any level would not be tolerated and Mann government will act tough against delinquent officials and no one found indulging in menace of corruption would be spared.

          The Power Minister said that recently in cases of corruption in PSPCL, swift and stern action was taken against Er. Gurjinder Singh, SDO DS Sub Division Mubarkpur, who was accused of harassing an applicant in case of release of industrial connection and he was immediately suspended on dated 28-04-2023 after enquiry by the Enforcement Wing of PSPCL. Similarly, Er. Harjit Singh, SDO and Er. Darshan Singh SDO were also suspended on 28-04-2023 for their role in embezzlement of material drawn from PSPCL stores after enquiry by the Technical Audit Wing of PSPCL. Further, in the same case, Er. Chhinder Pal Singh, SDO, Er. Daljit Singh JE and Sh. Ajitpal Singh, Line Man of DS Sub-Division, Bassian were also suspended for large scale material embezzlement. Prior to this, Er. Sumel Singh, Addl. SE DS Division, Amloh and his Divisional Accountant Sh. Kiran Kumar were also suspended due to embezzlement of PSPCL Funds after enquiry by the Audit Wing of PSPCL.

          He informed that FIRs have been registered in both these cases and involvement of senior officers in these cases is also being investigated. He said that anyone found guilty shall not be spared. 

          The Power Minister further said that he will not tolerate any ill treatment of the esteemed consumers and indulgence in corrupt practices by any employee at any level of the Power Department and in future also strict action shall be taken against the delinquent officers & officials.

          S. Harbhajan Singh ETO also urged the people of Punjab to cooperate the state government to uproot this menace of bribery from the state and if any officer or official of power department asks for a bribe, it should be reported immediately to his office.

 The Chief Minister started the road show from Bhargav Nagar in Jalandhar West assembly constituency. From here the roadshow went to Nari Niketan Chowk. In Jalandhar Central Assembly constituency, the Chief Minister did a road show from Milap Chowk to Bhagat Singh Chowk. In Jalandhar North assembly constituency, he did road show from Domoria bridge to Kishapura Chowk. CM Mann also interacted with the people during this roadshow.

 Addressing the people of Jalandhar, the Chief Minister launched a scathing attack on the Akali Dal and the Congress Party and said that the Congress-Akali leaders have sold the education of your children. Sold the medicines of the elderly and built big palaces for themselves with this money and amassed property worth billions of rupees.

 The Chief Minister also slammed Akali Dal chief Sukhbir Badal’s wife and MP Harsimrat Kaur Badal and said that in her affidavit given to the Election Commission in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Harsimrat Kaur Badal told that she had three and a half kilos of gold, crores of rupees in cash and assets worth crores of rupees. He asked her where she got so much money from, adding that it is actually public money that they looted.

The Chief Minister also attacked Congress leader and former Industries Minister Shyamsundar Arora and said that in a raid at his house, apart from papers of property worth crores, a note counting machine was also found. The meaning is clear that while being the Industries Minister, he used to collect large amounts of money from the industrialists of Punjab.

 He said that in the previous governments the ruling leaders used to take share in businesses. If you did not give them share, they used to threaten and get it raided. We do not take share in any business but we share the sorrow and pain of the common people of Punjab. He said that after the formation of our government, none of our leaders demanded commission or share from the businessmen of Punjab. The industrialists of Punjab now do their business fearlessly and also pay tax of crores of rupees to the government.

 The Chief Minister said that the AAP government is the government of the common people. In the interest of state and common people, we have changed the timings of government offices and schools to 7:30 am to 2:00 pm. With this decision, 350 MW of electricity will be saved daily and government offices in Punjab will save electricity bills of more than Rs.16 crore every month. Apart from this, government employees will now also get a chance to spend more time with their families and children.

Amritsar, 16 April, The Aam Aadmi Party opposed the summoning of AAP’s National Coordinator and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal by the CBI and said that the Modi government wanted to intimidate Arvind Kejriwal with CBI-ED.

 Cabinet minister Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal, who along with AAP Punjab ministers, MLAs and a large number of volunteers, sat on a dharna against the Modi government in Amritsar on Sunday, said that the BJP has been shaken by the growing stature of the Aam Aadmi Party and CM Arvind Kejriwal. That’s why the BJP has summoned him through the CBI to implicate him in a false case.

He said that our entire leadership, office bearers and workers from Gurdaspur, Pathankot and Tarn Taran have gathered here against the BJP government. He challenged the Modi government and said that no matter how much the central government misuses its agencies, the Aam Aadmi Party cannot be stopped.

 The minister said that “we will not stop till Arvind Kejriwal becomes the Prime Minister of our country”. URGES FARMERS AND YOUTH TO TAKE MAXIMUM ADVANTAGE OF SCHEME TO INCREASE THEIR INCOME

Chandigarh, January 29: Punjab Fisheries Minister S. Laljit Singh Bhullar released the poster providing detailed information of various government projects to promote fisheries’ occupation in the state.

          After releasing the poster of these projects under PMMSY, the Cabinet Minister said that Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann led government has promoted this scheme in the state with the aim of further development of Fisheries sector. He said, all kinds of projects for fish farming are included in this scheme, and beneficiaries can avail 40 to 60 percent subsidy for adopting this auxiliary occupation.

          For the first time in the state, subsidy was provided to 43 beneficiaries for purchasing motorcycles and auto-rickshaws for the transportation of fish and fish products under this scheme, said the Cabinet Minister, adding that besides this, around 120 hectares area has been brought under shrimp farming, for which financial assistance has been provided to 107 beneficiaries.

          The Fisheries Minister said that the project of mini fish feed mills are being established in the state under this scheme, and construction of a total five mini fish feed mills in the private sector at district Jalandhar, Patiala, SAS Nagar, Faridkot and Gurdaspur will be completed soon. Under this scheme, latest techniques of fish farming such as Re-circulatory Aquaculture System (RAS) and Bio-floc Culture System are also being promoted in Punjab, which would enable fish production in large quantity by using limited space and water. He said, currently four RAS units are operational in the state, while the construction work of two more units is in progress. Apart from this, five bio-floc units are also being set up.

          The Cabinet Minister said, the Mann government will organize special training camps for the expansion of these techniques so that more and more youth can adopt aquaculture as there is immense potential for the development of fisheries and allied occupations under this scheme. “There is still a lot of work to be done in the aquaculture processing sector in Punjab because the development of this sector will create new employment opportunities”, he mentioned, saying that this scheme will also be beneficial in making the marketing of fish clean and easy, and the department will set up kiosks in the private sector for the marketing of fish and fish products in a clean manner. Besides this, ornamental fish occupation will also be developed in Punjab, he added.

          S. Laljit Singh Bhullar said that currently, 43,690 acres are under fish farming in the state, and total 1,89,647 tonnes of fish is being produced presently in the state from natural waters and private & panchayati ponds. In order to promote fish occupation, quality fish seed is being supplied to the farmers at subsidized rates from 15 government fish seed farms, while another new Government Fish Seed Farm, construction work of which would be completed soon at Village Killianwali of district Fazilka, will soon provide fish seed. Apart from this, shrimp farming is being promoted to create employment opportunities in the salinity-affected districts of the state.

          Urging the farmers and youth of the state to adopt the aquaculture occupation, Fisheries Minister Laljit Singh Bhullar said, the Punjab government is committed to provide requisite assistance for the development of fish farming, hence farmers and youth should derive maximum benefit from these projects and increase their income.

          On the occasion, Officiating Director & Warden of Fisheries Mr. Brij Bhushan Goyal, Assistant Directors Ms. Satinder Kaur and Mr. Jaswinder Singh along with the other officers of the department were present.

Chandigarh, January 10: Water Supply and Sanitation Minister Bram Shanker Jimpa said that Punjab Government led by the Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is making stupendous efforts to ensure supply of clean water in those villages, where the ground water was contaminated. Chief Minister had announced to provide all facilities to the people at the doorsteps. 

          In its endeavor to provide safe drinking water to water quality affected villages, the Punjab government and the World Bank launched the Moga project, a comprehensive surface water supply scheme designed to provide clean and safe drinking water to affected villages in the region. It serves as a model for other regions looking to improve their drinking water supply and promote social development. The project has had a significant and transformative impact on the quality of life and livelihoods of residents in the region. By providing access to clean, safe drinking water, the project has reduced the prevalence of waterborne diseases and improved the overall health of the community, added Jimpa.         

          Water supply and sanitation Principal Secretary DK Tiwari and HoD Mohammad Ishfaq said that the project’s success is a testament to the vision and hard work of the Punjab government. It has demonstrated that, with the right planning, coordination, and resources, it is possible to improve the quality of life and livelihoods of rural communities, while also ensuring long-term water security.

          Despite all challenges, the project is a major success. The 50 MLD water treatment plant is now fully operational, providing clean and safe drinking water to 85 villages with a population of approximately 4 lakhs. The plant has been designed to operate on a sustainable basis, using state-of-the-art technology to minimize energy and water consumption. The project is not only providing safe water but will save 5 crore litres of ground water daily.

          It is pertinent to mention that Punjab had long struggled with heavy metal contamination, decreasing underground water levels, and waterborne diseases such as diarrhea, typhoid, cholera, amoebiasis, hepatitis B, and dysentery. These issues had a negative impact on the region’s economy, as residents were forced to devote time and resources to dealing with the consequences of polluted drinking water.

                   The Moga project involved the construction of a 50 MLD water treatment plant in the village of Dhaudhar. This plant was designed to treat surface water and provide a long-term, sustainable solution to the area’s drinking water needs. The project was completed on a Design, Build, Operate and Transfer (DBOT) basis, with M/s Larsen & Toubro Private Limited.

Rs.38.51 lakh per month will be earned from the Bus Stand fee

Chandigarh, December 21: Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Mann’s honest and transparent governance model is steering the Punjab Transport Department on the path of progress. Ludhiana bus stand, has fetched an amount of Rs.3.22 crore for the next six months in a auction conducted recently.

Giving more information, Transport Minister Laljit Singh Bhullar said, new vistas of income are opening for the transport department with the honest policies of Mann government, adding that  parking, an auction has been conducted of bathrooms, advertisement sites and bus stand fee collection at Ludhiana bus stand.  Now, the Punjab Roadways/Punbus will earn over Rs.2.31 crore from bus stand fee collection at the rate of Rs.38.51 lakh per month. Similarly, the bid for parking increased by Rs.70,000 and it will fetch Rs.7.20 lakh per month, from which the department will get Rs.43.20 lakh during next six months.

Mr. Bhullar said that the department will get double revenue from the bathrooms in the bus stand as these public utilities were taken by the bidder at the double price of Rs.3.95 lakh per month as compared to the previous year price of Rs.2.01 lakh per month. The department will get revenue of Rs.23.70 lakh.

The Transport Minister said that the contract for advertising inside the bus stand premises has increased to Rs.3.05 lakh per month. As many as 43 sites of 13,327 square feet for advertisement inside the bus stand will attract Rs.18.30 lakh during next six months.

The Minister informed that the shops and SCF of the bus stand were closed for the past several years. This time, two shops at the bus stand have been given on the rent at the rate of Rs.42,750 each per month, from where the department will receive Rs.5.13 lakh in next six months. Similarly, three SCF will attract Rs.5,000 each per month rent and state exchequer will receive Rs.90,000 from these SCFs.

Meanwhile, the Transport Minister directed the officials of the department to take immediate action for the re-bidding of the remaining shops so that the people can get the benefit of it and the revenue of the department could be increased accordingly.

While addressing here at Vikas Bhawan after hearing the plaints of people during weekly ‘Janta Darbar’ program, the NRI Affairs Minister Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal sought fulsome support from people for the all round development of Punjab. The Minister directed the officials on the spot to address the issues being raised in this weekly meeting promptly. He said that Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann led Government is fully committed to maintain peace & harmony besides touching new heights of development, prosperity and welfare of people. He also asserted that the State Government would launch the second phase of its campaign against removal of illegal possessions from Panchayati lands. He also pointed out that the first phase of campaign had been a great success with getting more than 10,000 acres of land free from such possessions.

Mr. Dhaliwal ordered the officials to resolve the complaints of the people quickly and said that it should also be ensured that the complaints and problems are resolved without any delay. He advised the employees related to their departments to perform their duties with utmost dedication.

Mr. Dhaliwal further said that more than 100 cases have been heard today. He said that most of the issues are being resolved immediately during the Janata Darbar’ programme.

Chandigarh, May 8, The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab gave the Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) another big setback in Amritsar. A prominent SGPC member and many Akali leaders left the SAD and joined the AAP in the presence of CM Bhagwant Mann and Talbir Singh Gill.

Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann welcomed Bawa Singh Gumanpura (SGPC member), Narinder Singh Noni (Senior vice-president Amritsar Urban), Malak Singh Sandhu (Senior vice-president Amritsar Urban), Kishan Gopal Chachu (member working committee SAD), Nishan Singh Gumanpura and Gurjit Singh Gumanpura (national vice-president Punjab) to the Aam Aadmi Party. 

This setback will weaken the Akali Dal in the Amritsar lok sabha. Mann said that the leaders and the people of Punjab do not have any trust left in the Akali Dal as now it is Badal Dal which is full of selfish and corrupt people. Mann said that the Aam Aadmi Party always have a place for the people who are pro-Punjab and wants to serve the people. 

All the new joining leaders said that they are happy to be part of the Aam Aadmi Party which has a capable leader like Bhagwant Mann. They said that they highly applaud the dedication and hard work of the AAP government in Punjab. For the first time we have a government who is working for the people and free of corrupt power hungry people.

Chandigarh/Malerkotla, May 8, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, on Wednesday, launched a scathing attack against Akali Dal Badal and the BJP in Malerkotla. He was campaigning for the AAP candidate from Sangrur Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer. He said that the people of Malerkotla are known for raising their voice against the injustice, they will defeat hate mongers too.

Mann did a road show in Malerkotla where thousands of the people particularly youth raised slogans in favour of the AAP and CM Bhagwant Mann. He addressed the gathered and thanked the people for their love and support. Mann said that this love doesn't let him get tired. He said that the people of Malerkotla have always blessed him with immense support. In 2014 and 2019, the people here contributed to my victory, this time too they will ensure the victory of the AAP candidate Meet Hayer. Mann said that Meet Hayer is a hard working and honest leader who was preparing for the IAS exam before joining politics. 

Mann said that the BJP does the politics of hatred but now the people have seen their real face. They are losing badly. Mann also lambasted Prime Minister Modi. He said that there are about 6 lakh words in the Hindi dictionary, but PM Modi only speaks eight to ten words like Hindu-Muslim, temple-mosque, Pakistan and graveyard. He never speaks on problems like inflation, unemployment, poverty and hunger.

He said that it is very shameful that after being the Prime Minister for ten years, he is asking for votes in the name of Mangalsutra. He said that the BJP does the politics of hatred. It wants to take votes from people by scaring them in the name of caste and religion. It is also trying to divide Punjab, but the people of Punjab never tolerate the politics of hatred. Punjab is known for communal harmony. People here celebrate Gurpurabs, Eid, Holi, Diwali and Navami together. BJP's politics of hatred can never succeed here.

Mann said that we do the politics of work. I made electricity free for all, built schools and hospitals, opened 829 mohalla clinics, gave 43,000 government jobs, constantly creating employment opportunities for the youth, giving 1 crore ex-gratia to the families of the martyrs, common people are getting public services at their door steps. 

Mann also railed at Sukhbir Badal and said that he comes out of his palaces after asking the temperature. He gets out for an hour in 30°C to save Punjab. Mann said that his road show is full of people at this hour too, he can never repay the debt of this love. And on the other hand people don't come out to listen to Sukhbir Badal even in daytime. He said that we are like you, we came from villages and government schools. I understand your pain and your problems. They cannot copy us, they cannot follow our hard work. He said that Meet Hayer has defeated leaders like Kewal Dhillon, now the people don't even know which party he belongs to. He said that some political parties use tension of borders to lure the voters, but don't fall prey to the politics of hatred.

Candidate Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer thanked CM Mann and the people of Malerkotla for their support. Meet Hayer said that he has been MLA from Barnala for more than 7 years. During those seven years, I have done my work dedicatedly and honestly. As an MP too, I'll serve you my best. Ferozepur/Chandigarh, May 7, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann campaigned in the Ferozepur Lok Sabha constituency on Tuesday. He addressed a huge public rally and appealed to the people to make AAP candidate Jagdeep Singh Kaka Brar win with a huge majority.

Addressing the people, Mann said that your love and respect never lets me get tired. He said that I am also one of you. I have lived in the village and am still connected to my village. I understand your pain and suffering. What will those living in palaces know about the people of the village!

Mann attacked Sukhbir Badal and said that he is a person who lives in AC. He comes out after asking the temperature. When the temperature outside is 30-32°, he takes out his Punjab Bachao Yatra for two hours. I have not seen him in Parliament till date. How will such people understand the pain and suffering of the common people!

He said that Sukhbir Badal looted Punjab while in power and ruined the young generation.  He built a Sukh Vilas Hotel for himself in the mountains, the rent of one room there is Rs 7 lakh per night. Each room in that hotel has a private pool. Mann said that I will free that land from the Badal family and convert it into a school and that school will be the first school to have a pool with every classroom.

He said that dynast and traditional politicians of Punjab are very sad that people from ordinary households became MLAs, ministers and chief ministers. These people considered power their birthright and treated positions as their ancestral estates. Mann appealed to the people that in the 2022 assembly elections, you defeated stalwarts. This time the fort of Ferozepur also has to be demolished too, meaning that the Akali Dal should lose from Ferozepur.

Taking a dig at the Badal family, Mann said that all the people of the Badal family have lost the election. Only Harsimrat Kaur Badal is left. In this election, Harsimrat Kaur's security deposit is going to be forfeited from Bathinda. After that, everyone in the Badal family will be defeated, then they will not blame each other saying 'you lost', 'you lost' because everyone will be a loser.

Addressing the problems of the farmers of Ferozepur, Mann said that I held a meeting with the farmers and officers of Ferozepur. They told me that we need canal water for cotton cultivation. I ordered the officers at a time and said that they should get canal water by April 10 at any cost. Apart from this, he also said that all farmers should be provided with sufficient electricity during the day. I am very happy that my promise has been fulfilled.

He said that the previous Finance Minister Manpreet Badal always used to say that the treasury is empty. We have never said this till date. We are filling the Punjab government's exchequer and we have given 43,000 government jobs in the last two years. 829 Aam Aadmi Clinics were built in which two crore people have gotten free treatment. Schools of Eminence are opened, today government schools have achieved 98 percent successful results. This year, about 2.5 lakh children changed their school and got themselves enrolled in government schools.

He said that I want to change your compulsion into your choice. Today, it is your compulsion to enroll your children in private schools and get treatment in private hospitals because you do not trust government schools and hospitals yet. In the coming days, I will make government schools and hospitals so good that choosing private schools and hospitals will be your choice, not compulsion.

He said that after becoming the Chief Minister, I have not done corruption of even a single rupee till date because I have not come to politics to earn money. I used to do satire how these Akali Congress people were looting Punjab. I felt, I should save the people of Punjab from them, so I entered politics.

Mann also assured the workers of the Aam Aadmi Party and said that he appreciates their efforts and support. I understand your feelings, you don't have to voice them. After June 4, you will get a position in the organization and government according to your merit. He said that we have made our common workers the chairmen of all the boards of the government.

 Addressing the gathering, AAP candidate in Ferozepur Jagdeep Singh Kaka Brar thanked Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and all the people present in the public meeting and said that Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann strengthened the government institutions for the development of the people of Punjab. The Mann government bailed out institutions like Verka, Markfed and Sugarfed from financial crises. That is why today Verka's products are being sold in other states outside Punjab.
